The groundwater level is low in the Banaskantha district, which is going down day by day.The district mainly depends on agriculture. The agriculture and Animal husbandry business is more challenging due to water scarcity.To solve the water scarcity issue, the Chairman – Shri Shankar Chaudhary always advocates the importance of rainwater and its storage.
Shri P J Chaudhary, Chairman, Galbabhai Nanjibhai Patel Charitable Trust (GNPCT) along with the BJSA team – is actively working on various activities to make Banaskanthathe greenest district in India under the guidance of Banas Dairy’s Chairman. The team selects various sites like lakes and deepens the rainwater catchment areas of the site.
The BJSA under GNPCT of Banas Dairy carried out deepening of 66 lakes under SujalamSufalamYojana of the Government of Gujarat in April-May, 2021. It is estimated that more than 96 crore liters of water will be stored across 66 lakes inthe district.It will also raise the groundwater level by 860 hectares of Banaskantha and Patan district, which helps the farmers in livelihood.
Afforestation is the establishment of a forest or stands of trees in an area where there was no previous tree cover. Afforestation is helped to fight against climate concerns. It is known to increase the soil quality and organic carbon levels into the soil, and avoid desertification.Banas Dairy directly engages in afforestation programs to make Banaskantha district –a green district, helping the environment, and our planet. The rate of net deforests was substantially over the last decadeinthe greater Banaskanthadistrict.Banas Dairy aims to grow 10 million treeplantsevery year across a district.
Jessore hill is a part of the Aravalli ranges, which is also known as “JairajParva”.Aravalli-Jessore rangeshave been a sacred land for the devotees of sages and saints from immemorial time. The land of Jessoreis honored by the following saints namely ChandangiriBapu,ShivgiriBapu, and MunijiMaharaj.There is a very famous temple of Shree KedarnathMahadev. On the day of ShivratriParva, thousands of devotees are visiting this ancient temple, which belongs to the Mahabharata period. The whole climb offers panoramic holy views of the surroundings.All tourists and devotees were enjoying the blessings of Lord Shiva.A grand campaign has been launched by Banas Dairy to celebrate the “Muni Parvat Puja” on 19thAugust 2021.
Atthe Aravalli Jessore range, Banas Dairy has started the seed ball planting campaignon 19 August 2021. In the campaign, two lakhs seed balls were planted, which contain more than six lakhsof wild tree seeds. This seed ball is made from claydung, which includes the seed of wild trees like Custard Apple,Bor,Kher,Kanja,Khakhra,Kumta,Goras,Tamarind,Garmalo,Jambun, and Gunda.The various teams took part, which includes the team of sixteen board of directors,team of BanasDairy employees,local leaders, farmers, and milk producers from 20 village DCS around the Jessore range.
